LAGCOE '15: Keynote speakers are Chesapeake and Frank's International CEOs
LAFAYETTE -- LAGCOE '15 will feature two distinguished oil and gas industry executives as its keynote speakers. Doug Lawler President, CEO, and Director, Chesapeake Energy will present, "2016 Outlook: Leadership, Performance and Value," on October 27 from 1-2 p.m.
Gary Luquette, President and CEO, Frank's International, LLC. Luquette will make a presentation on, "Surviving and Prospering in a Difficult Market" on October 28 from 1-2 p.m.
Both events will take place in Room A on the second level of the Convention Center.
Robert D. "Doug” Lawler has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Chesapeake Energy since June 2013. Before joining Chesapeake, Mr. Lawler served as Senior Vice President of International and Deepwater Operations at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and as a member of Anadarko’s Executive Committee from July 2012 to June 2013. Prior to that time, he served as Anadarko’s Vice President of International Operations from December 2011 to July 2012, Vice President of Operations for the Southern and Appalachia Region from March 2009 to July 2012 and Vice President of Corporate Planning from August 2008 to March 2009. Mr. Lawler began his career with Kerr-McGee Corporation in 1988 and joined Anadarko following its acquisition of Kerr-McGee in August 2006.
Mr. Lawler currently serves as an Executive Committee member for America’s Natural Gas Alliance and is a board member of the American Petroleum Institute, Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association, State Chamber of Oklahoma and Business Roundtable. He serves on the boards of United Way of Central Oklahoma, The Last Frontier Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and the Houston Grand Opera. Mr. Lawler graduated from the Colorado School of Mines in 1988 and from Rice University in 2002.
Mr. Luquette currently serves as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer and President, a position he has held since January 2015. Mr. Luquette was also appointed to the Supervisory Board in November 2013. Mr. Luquette previously served as President of Chevron North America Exploration and Production Company, a position he held from April 2006 until his retirement in September 2013. Prior to serving as President of Chevron North America Exploration and Production Company, Mr. Luquette served as Managing Director of Chevron Upstream Europe from January 2003 until April 2006. Mr. Luquette has held several other positions since beginning his career with Chevron in 1978, including Vice President, Profit Center Manager, Advisor and Engineer.
Mr. Luquette graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 1978 and served as a member of the American Petroleum Institute and former chair of the organization’s Upstream Committee. Additionally, Mr. Luquette recently served on the Greater Houston Partnership’s Executive Committee and serves on the board of directors for the United Way of Greater Houston. Mr. Luquette is also a member and Chairman of the board of directors of McDermott International, Inc. Mr. Luquette was selected as a supervisory director because of his extensive experience in the oil and gas industry and his experience managing other public companies.
