LAGCOE ’15: Grand reception recognizes international visitors

LAFAYETTE – LAGCOE paid a special tribute to its international visitors and invited guests with a grand evening reception at the University of Louisiana Alumni Center. Visitors to the elegant event featured a reception line of UL international students dressed in their native costumes.

David Boulet, International Committee Chairman for LAGCOE, welcomed the guests and recognized the volunteers and staff, who made the reception possible. Receiving recognition included LAGCOE Executive Director Angela Cring, Chairman Steve Maley and LAGCOE Looey Leon Charles Monclay and International Center’s Philippe Hussain. A special bouquet of flowers was presented to LAGCOE Industry Relations Director Claire Thom in recognition of her behind the scenes work.

Jason El Koubi, Director of One Acadiana, a regional chamber of commerce for the nine parishes, paid tribute to the diversity of the region. “This is one of the most diverse, rural region of America that brings together the traditions of Europe and Africa and many languages, and certainly, our food.”

UL Provost Jeff Henderson welcomed the guests and paid tribute to the excellent petroleum engineering program at UL.

LAGCOE's special program for international visitors included presentations by delegations from Ukraine, Mexico, South Korea and Saudi Aramco Services.
