Applying molecular microbiological methods to understand and prevent microbiologically influenced corrosion
Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC) is a poorly understood phenomena that affects all segments of the energy industry. Given the abundance of water used in shale production, MIC and souring are significant concerns to most operators. This presentation will explain how souring and MIC lead to incidents, and explain how the newest technologies can be used to prevent failures.
