Energy Ventures invests in reservoir solutions group SageRider

HOUSTON – Energy Ventures, an independent venture capital firm dedicated to funding high-growth upstream oil and gas technology companies, has invested in SageRider, Inc. The funding will support the development and commercialization of SageRider’s suite of reservoir and completion optimization solutions.

SageRider, based in Stafford, Texas, offers a portfolio of technology-focused reservoir monitoring and completion products, as well as project management services. These technology solutions include real-time reservoir monitoring via the SageWatch Subsurface Surveillance System; multi-zone completions via the EasyRider casing conveyed perforating system; and fiber optics for both DTS and DAS analysis.

Founded in 2008, SageRider now operates in every major U.S. shale play, including Eagle Ford, Bakken, Cana, Permian and Marcellus. The company has offices in Houston, Dallas, Oklahoma City and Denver, with plans to expand further in the near future. With six product lines, the company said it plans to improve existing technologies, while simultaneously expanding into new areas, with the investment by Energy Ventures.
