G.E. launches internet solutions portfolio and Kuala Lumpur diagnostic center
KUALA LUMPUR -- G.E. has launched its Predictivity portfolio of industrial internet solutions to help customers across major industries in the Asia Pacific region.
Leveraging data from the company's intelligent machines and predictive analytics, Predictivity will assist users in the oil and gas sector, amongst others.
G.E. Oil & Gas has also opened a monitoring and diagnostics facility, dubbed the iCenter, at an event co-organized with the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA). The launch ceremony in KLSentral was officiated by Senator Dato' Sri Idris Jala, minister in the Prime Minister’s Office, C.E.O. of PEMANDU. G.E. chairman Jeffrey R. Immelt was also in attendance.
G.E. Predictivity represents the portfolio of G.E.’s Industrial Internet solutions and is powered by the Predix software platform, which was created to handle industrial data.
G.E. Oil & Gas’ monitoring and diagnostics technology is deployed on over 800 gas turbines and compressors in 27 countries, from LNG through to offshore and pipeline applications. Diagnostic engineers in G.E.’s iCenters can call upon more than 11 million hr of machine data from countries around the globe gathered from intelligent sensors and allied with the power of big data and analytics to provide customers with recommendations to ensure that their equipment is performing at the best of its capabilities and avoid unplanned issues.
The iCenter in Kuala Lumpur is one of three global centers strategically set up in different time zones to ensure 24/7 monitoring and diagnostics services for G.E.’s installed fleet of turbomachinery for customers throughout the world. The goal of the iCenter is to enhance rotating equipment availability, reliability and performance through Predictivity solutions.
The iCenter in Kuala Lumpur is fully integrated with the centers in Florence, Italy, and Houston, Texas, to guarantee direct access to discipline experts during critical events. The iCenter is managed by local engineers in line with G.E.’s commitment to support the growth of Malaysian talent.
