Wireless Seismic announces purchase of RT System 2 by PT Elnusa Tbk

October 13, 2015

SUGAR LAND, Texas -- Wireless Seismic has announced the sale and delivery of its RT System 2 seismic data acquisition system to the Indonesian seismic contractor, PT Elnusa Tbk (Elnusa), after comprehensive system field trials in north Sumatra, Indonesia.

Elnusa is the leading seismic contractor in Indonesia and operates seismic crews throughout the Indonesian archipelago and internationally.

“Our first project for RT System 2 is in a busy, densely populated urban area in Java,” said Mr. T. S. Winarso, deputy director of geoscience services at Elnusa. “The portion of the survey in this urban area would be very difficult to acquire with a conventional cable system. The real-time data and QC return of RT System 2 means that we can monitor the noise on the line during acquisition and avoid shooting with high background noise levels.”

“We tested RT System 2 extensively in the field in both urban and highly vegetated environments prior to committing to purchase it, and the system performance far exceeded our expectations,” continued Winarso. “Unlike a nodal system, our client’s valuable data are returned in real time and not left in the acquisition units on the line, making our operation more secure.”

“We are pleased that Elnusa, a key player in the Indonesian market, has purchased its first RT System 2,” said Mick Lambert, president and CEO of Wireless Seismic. “This is Wireless Seismic’s first sale in Indonesia, a market which remains active, despite the general slowdown in our industry. We worked closely with Elnusa’s technical staff to demonstrate the system working in an environment very similar to that of its forthcoming survey, and we were able to demonstrate that RT System 2 is capable of acquiring data efficiently, even in a densely cultured, forested, and agricultural area, such as Indonesia.”
