TransCanada removes Quebec port from Energy East pipeline scope
EDMONTON, Alberta (Bloomberg) -- TransCanada Corp. is removing a port in Quebec from the planned route of its Energy East oil pipeline, the company said in a statement.
The C$12 billion ($9.1 billion) pipeline would carry about 1.1 MMbopd from western Canada to the East Coast. TransCanada is seeking approval for Energy East as an alternative while the U.S. State Department reviews its Keystone XL project, which would ship Alberta crude to the U.S.
The pipeline is expected to go into service in 2020, the company said.
