Caterpillar supplies Propell Oilfield Equipment with all Cat components
CALGARY, Alberta -- Caterpillar Oil & Gas has outfitted a well stimulation trailer for Propell Oilfield Equipment with all Cat components for the first time in its noted history. Featured on the trailer is the Cat 3512C (HD) engine with Dynamic Gas Blending, a Cat TH55-E70 transmission as well as the Cat WS255 quintuplex pressure pump with a stainless steel fluid end.
Additionally, the 3512C (HD) engine is also equipped with Product Link, the Caterpillar enterprise telematics solution for comprehensive engine management. The trailer will complete field testing using a Cat vocational truck.
The WS255 pump offers a maximum power input of 1,864 bkW (2,500 bhp) at 330 rpm and is ideal for well stimulation applications using Cat 3512C (HD) engines and TH55 transmissions. The Cat well stimulation pump product portfolio consists of five well stimulation pumps in triplex and quintuplex configurations in a standard, Extreme Duty series or Stainless Steel series.
The Cat well stimulation pumps feature fluid ends and power ends designed to an industry standard footprint, allowing customers to easily fit the Cat pump into their existing trailer designs. The fluid ends on all models have a valve-over-valve design to simplify valve, seat and plunger installation and each fluid end block is manufactured with a robust material conditioning process. A full assortment of discharge flanges, suction manifolds, and bore sizes is also offered. The WS255 pump assembled on the Propell Oilfield Equipment trailer is also equipped with the new Cat valves and seats, launched in spring 2015.
The trailer will operate as a rental unit in western Canada once field testing is complete.
