Alvheim production exceeds expectations: Det Norske
TRONDHEIM, Norway -- Accumulated oil production from the Alvheim area has passed the 300 MMbbl mark, Det Norske said Wednesday.
“The field has delivered excellent results and been further developed with new wells and fields since the start-up in June 2008. The positive development does not end here because there are still remaining resources to exploit in the area,” Geir Solli, Det norske’s senior V.P. of operations, said.
The average daily production from the 25 producing wells in the greater Alvheim area is currently around 100,000 boe (around 90% oil).
“The Greater Alvheim Area exceeds all of our expectations from the start-up back in June 2008. This success was made possible thanks to the whole organization, both on- and offshore and the cooperation with our license partners in the area,” Solli added.
Alvheim is the name of Det Norske’s core area of production, and the production vessel at the field. The Alvheim area consists of the producing fields Alvheim, Bøyla, Volund and Vilje.
