Expro wins 10-year contract for LNG pre-treatment plant in Congo
(WO) — Eni has awarded Expro, an energy services provider, a contract for a liquified natural gas (LNG) pre-treatment facility in Congo. The decade-long contract is expected to generate over $300 million in profits for Expro.
Under the contract, Expro will be responsible for designing, building, operating, and maintaining the onshore LNG pre-treatment facility. The LNG facility will be able to process roughly 80 MMcfgd. The project, which will supply gas to the Centrale Electrique du Congo Pointe-Noire Power Plant, will increase LNG production from Congo.
The new LNG pre-treatment facility will allow for incremental gas production for low-carbon electricity generation. Linking to Eni Congo’s offshore floating LNG operations, the facility will support local and global LNG demands to strengthen energy security.
Eni chose Expro to operate and maintain the LNG facility because of it’s technical experience in delivering modular production facilities globally, and in particular, West Africa.
