ChampionX introduces ESP production optimization services
ChampionX has launched a redesign of its LOOKOUT™ optimization services for electrical submersible pumping (ESP) systems. The enhanced service provides real-time data with full system control, advanced data visualization, integrated communications, and direct access to a team of multi-disciplined artificial lift experts.
Powered by a modern digital backbone, LOOKOUT optimization services enable streamlined integration with diverse data sources and control solutions. LOOKOUT also leverages the full capabilities of ChampionX’s SMARTEN™ XE control system, delivering advanced automation for ESP operations.
“Production engineers are overwhelmed with data from multiple sources while managing hundreds of wells,” said Ryan Rasmussen, vice president and managing director of ChampionX’s UNBRIDLED® ESP Systems. “LOOKOUT optimization services provide performance, accountability, continuous improvement, and scalability, while allowing customers’ production engineers to focus on critical tasks.”
With LOOKOUT optimization services, customers gain access to a new web platform that enhances accountability. The platform features a service score tracking timeliness and accuracy, while capturing interactions to drive continuous improvement.
The LOOKOUT platform provides deeper well insights with over 80 data visualization points, customizable, self-subscribing notifications, and a single dashboard allowing users to quickly assess multiple data points. Analyzing multiple performance indexes, the platform generates a health score for each well, helping production teams prioritize well interventions and maximize efficiency.
“We’ve heard our customers loud and clear—they’re overwhelmed with alarms and excessive, non-value-added information,” Rasmussen said. “We are developing smart notifications for the LOOKOUT web platform that highlight critical events, helping production engineers quickly identify and address the wells requiring immediate intervention with a goal of maintaining optimal production.”
A key advantage of LOOKOUT optimization services is its ability to leverage ChampionX’s SMARTEN XE control system. The SMARTEN XE controller captures all well events with 1-second data resolution with the SMARTEN Edge device, providing operators with a real-time, granular view of well performance.
The SMARTEN controller monitors chemical injection pumps at the wellsite, offering full visualization of chemical usage and pump maintenance needs. Users can remotely adjust chemical injection and perform system modifications through the LOOKOUT platform, which mirrors the same intuitive interface used in the field.
