STAVANGER, Norway (Bloomberg) -- Statoil ASA’s first well off Norway with OAO Rosneft, the Russian state-run oil company targeted by international sanctions, may be delayed following a Greenpeace complaint. Drilling can’t start on the Statoil-operated Pingvin prospect in the Barents Sea until the appeal has been handled this week by the Norwegian Environment Agency, Reidar Evensen, a spokesman for the agency, said in an email. Greenpeace argued the arctic well is an oil-spill hazard.

STOCKHOLM -- The appraisal program on the recently discovered structure in Block 4 onshore the Sultanate of Oman (B4EW4) continues with another very successful well. The sixth well (B4EW4-6) on the structure, flows in excess of 3,000 bopd on a 34/64 inch choke from the Lower Buah reservoir section of the Nafun carbonate group.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark -- Maersk Drilling has signed a contract with Premier Oil Norge AS for the jackup Maersk Guardian for a one well drilling operation, the Myrhauk exploration well, in the Norwegian North Sea. The duration of the contract is approximately 62 days. The contract will commence in direct continuation of the present Lundin Norway AS contract during Q3 2014.

MOSCOW -- Four new hydrocarbon deposits were discovered at Rosneft’s license blocks in eastern Siberia, and reserves for one of the reservoirs have been converted from C2 to C1 category. The increase in C1 recoverable oil and condensate reserves was over 10 million tonnes; gas reserves – 12 bcm, which was approved by the State Committee for Mineral Reserves after corresponding consideration.

LONDON -- Tullow Oil said that the Paon-2A appraisal well in the CI-103 licence offshore Côte d’Ivoire has determined the down-dip extent of the Paon oil accumulation. The well encountered the water below the oil accumulation discovered at the Paon-1X well and pressure logging has located the likely oil water contact.
